Happy Friday and Happy New Year! How are you feeling today? I’m sure some of you are still recovering from the holiday. Some of you are full speed ahead and on to new goals and intentions for the year. And some of you are just waking up to this new year and trying to get back to routine.
What Do I Need Today?
Wherever you are, I do believe the question “what do I need today?” is the right one. We can make all the plans and goals we want, but if we aren’t giving ourselves what we need today, it will be hard to move forward. Maybe that means you need to get something done today, or perhaps you need rest today, even 10 days into the new year. Please make asking this question a daily practice in 2025. By doing so, you step into self-compassion.
Speaking of... this week on the TODAY show, we talked about grace. Almost every single adult I know could use more grace in their life. We perseverate on mistakes we make, flood our minds with “should statements,” and often feel guilty when we are just doing our best. Craig, Al, and I talked about what we need to do to give ourselves more grace. Watch here:

I'm a dog mom!
Lastly, let me introduce my newest family member... Luna, our blue-nosed pitbull. First of all, I was outvoted 5:1. Second, all of you who said the kids would say they would do everything and they don’t... you were right. Although I never thought I would be a dog mom, she’s growing on me.
